  Denis Gaston, Florida Artist with an Interesting World of Characters   An exhibition of his art is currently on view at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd. in Dunedin, Florida, 727-298-3322, Mo-Fri 10-5:00 pm, Sat 10-2:00 pm.  Denis Gaston's work is on display through December 23rd, 2024. Susanne and Denis Gaston I have known Denis Gaston as fellow artist and friend for over twenty five years. Today I would like to share our conversation for Art-Solo , the podcast of special interviews with truly unique artists with you. Denis Gaston, originally from West Virginia, grew up in Florida and received a BA in Art and Design from the University of Florida. He began his career  working as a graphic designer in Atlanta. Denis Gaston returned to Florida in 1984 and embarked on a full time fine art career. He con tinues to make art and exhibit it. Interview with Ben Patterson  and Fluxus Art Movement in Wiesbaden, Germany In 2012, Susanne Nielsen had the honor of meeting FLUXUS artist Ben Patterson in Wiesbaden, Germany. He had been living there and making art for years, was known by friends and neighbors, but this was the 50 th  anniversary year of the FLUXUS art movement and now, Patterson smiled, as his face was on every arts and cultural publication, one memorable one showing him jumping high in the sky, so he could no longer even go to the baker without being followed by adoring fans. The quiet artist lived for a few more productive years until he passed away “as quietly as he had lived”, as his friend, fellow artist Spiegel with whom he shared a studio, told me, in 2016.      Ben Patterson met and sat down with Susanne Nielsen for an interview at the literary cafĂ© at Villa Clementine for coffee and conversation about his life and art.
